What I've been up to:)

I feel bad I haven't posted anything this year until now. Time really flies sometimes. Here's one reason why I've been too busy to blog, I received a cuttlebug for Christmas and have been really busy making cards and experimenting with my new machine:)

Here are some of the first cards I made, I only had one set of cutting dies to start with and a few embossing folders. The label in the next two cards are from Spellbinders (labels 5).

In this card I used a metal embossing sheet to do the dry embossing, it's a spellbinders impressabilities. The label is Spellbinders Labels 4 and the stamps are from Waltzingmouse stamps, they make coordinating stamps for some of the spellbinders labels. In this card I used spellbinders labels 2 and the coordinating waltzingmouse stamp set. For the purple background I simply used a damask stamp that I stamped several times on the card stock using brown stazon.
Last week I finally received the circle and scallop circle dies I'd ordered from lifestyle crafts and Quickutz, I decided to go with those companies instead of spellbinders this time because they had a lot more dies in their set for the same price (15 dies instead of just 5 or 6)and they are great for layering. I'd seen a tutorial online for these adorable telescoping cards. These were so quick and easy to make, I never use designer paper for cards but these cards look so cute with the designer paper. The sentiments I used were also from waltzingmouse.

I saw a few cards like this online using a label die as the base of the card, I love making small cards because I never know what to write in them:) The cupcake stamp is from Inkadinkado and I used my distress inks and a water color brush to color in the stamped image. the sentiments is from that same stamp set.
I love this card, I did some stamped embossing on the card base and added green distress ink, then I cut out a Lacey circle from spellbinders and used impressabilities to emboss that. I die cut a labels 4 and added the happy birthday sentiment and I cut out some flowers using Marianne D creatables flower dies. I put a ribbon through the Lacey edge and attached the label as a tag with the ribbon. I glued the flowers and added a perle to each flower.
I did a lot of layering on this card as well as embossing, I love how it turned out!
This card I made today, to make the flowers I used spellbinders rose creations and some foliage dies from spellbinders.
Hope you enjoyed these cards! Oh, and Happy Valentines day to everyone!!
